ESWIN Computing Obtained ISO 26262 Functional Safety Certification from TÜV Rheinland
2022-11-19

In September 2022, Beijing ESWIN Computing Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “ESWIN Computing”), a next-generation computing architecture IC and solution provider, obtained the ISO 26262 automotive functional safety certification issued by TÜV Rheinland, one of the world’s authoritative testing, inspection and certification organizations. This certification means that ESWIN Computing’s automotive-grade ICs R&D process system is fully accredited by the international standard, holding a strong “passport” of the automotive market.

There are hundreds of types of chips in the electronic and electrical architectures of a single automotive. With the rapid development of automotive in the direction of intelligence, networking, and electrification, the functions of ICs are becoming more and more complex and numerous. Compared with consumer and industrial ICs, automotive ICs have stricter requirements on safety, reliability and stability.

ISO 26262 is a globally recognized electrical/electronic (E/E) functional safety standard in the automotive industry, covering planing, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation and configuration of automotive functional safety requirements. At present, ISO 26262 has become one of the entry barriers for electronic component suppliers to enter the automotive market, which minimized the risk of failure of automotive electrical or electronic systems by standardizing the development process.

Shi Yihao, the Manager of ESWIN Computing’s Automotive Systems Department, said, “Safety is the core indicator we consider first when designing our products. We have established a complete functional safety management system for automotive products, and will continue to improve the automotive functional safety certification platform in the future, and actively promote the certification of quality management system, quality control, environmental testing, information security, etc. We are committed to introduce safer, high-reliability and more durable products to meet the high standards and strict requirements of global customers for automotive-grade ICs.”

Zhao Bin, the Manager of Industrial Services & Cybersecurity of TÜV Rheinland Greater China, expressed his warm congratulations, “ESWIN Computing has efficiently and smoothly completed its first ISO 26262 functional safety certification process. We are looking forward to a deeper long-term strategic cooperation with ESWIN Computing, in the hope of helping its business development and better serve global customers.”
