Job Purpose:
This role is focused on capturing and processing of real-time data from sensors using analogue and digital signal processing and developing algorithms to improve specific areas in the system. As a member of the Research group, you will be working closely with system architecture, IC design, software, and sensor teams.
You will be part of a team working on the development of current and next-generation touch algorithms. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of fresh development and have a direct impact on the outcome.
Main Duties:
Support the research, development and definition of algorithms using MATLAB & Simulink
Perform analysis, high level modelling and simulations
Develop and define tools to test, verify and evaluate algorithms
Support algorithm implementation, integration, and test
Evolve existing algorithms in-line with project and business needs
Support the development of new touch detection algorithms in-line with technology roadmap
Support general algorithm development for sensor and/or image processing pipelines
Work with stakeholders to define problem statements and/or research objectives
What we expect from you?
Good working knowledge of two or more: MATLAB, SIMULINK, Python and Embedded C
Experience in high-level modelling and simulation of systems or algorithms
Experience in image or signal processing for embedded systems would be advantageous
Knowledge of semiconductor technologies and mixed-signal system design and analysis
Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and image processing theories would be beneficial
Experience operating in a SCRUM team, CI environment or in other Agile techniques would be beneficial
Open to work travel
The essential requirements:
MSc in Systems, Control and Signal Processing or Signal Processing and Communications
BEng or MEng in Engineering, Electronics or related subjects (upper second class or equivalent)
3+ years of solid post-graduate experience in engineering
Desirable but not essential
Knowledge of SPICE
Knowledge of HDL/Verilog
